The ultrastructure of sarcoma I cells and immune macrophages during their interaction in the peritoneal cavities of immune C57BL-6 mice.

چکیده
C57BL/6 mice that had recently rejected a primary Sarcoma I (Sal) ascitic tumor were given a second i.p. dose of Sal cells. The interaction of the immune macrophages of the host and the Sal target cells was investigated by electron microscopy. The macrophages rapidly adhered to the target cells and spread over their surfaces. The interaction of the immune macrophages and Sal cells was manifested by interdigitation of their surfaces and the extension of Sal microvilli into deep invaginations of the immune macrophages. The spreading of the immune macrophages over the surfaces of the Sal cells resulted in the apparent phagocytosis of viable tumor cells. Such phagocytized Sal cells were contained within phagocytic vacuoles with the vacuolar membrane of the macrophage usually closely applied to the plasma membrane of the Sal cell. Amorphous material was observed in the vacuolar space, particularly in the mildly dilated areas. These findings suggest that the phagocytosis of Sal cells by immune C57BL/6 macrophages plays an important role in the rejection of the ascitic form of the tumor during the secondary immune response.

Abstract Background: Urban air pollution represents a challenge in Tehran. Health care organs and physicians pay much attention because of health effect on mankind. Nowadays, a majority of air pollution related articles focus on particulate matter adverse effects on human health. Epidemiologic studies show the direct correlation between ambient particulate matter and risk of respiratory sys...
متن کاملComparision of the effects of Leishmania Soluble Antigen (LSA) and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on C57BL/6 Mice Macrophage Function
Background: Macrophages activation is the important anti-leishmania immune response. Different signals could affect macrophages development and functional activation. Objectives: In the present study, we compared the effect of Leishmania Soluble Antigen (LSA)and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on peritoneal macrophage responses. Appropriate activation of macrophages depends on thesignals they receive ...

Background and Objective: Glucagon like peptide 1 (GLP-1) is a peptide released from the small intestine and mainly enhances glucose-induced insulin secretion, although its receptor (GLP-1R) is distributed on various cells including mice and human macrophages. Regarding important functions of macrophage in regulating pro-inflammatory and immune responses, in this study, the effect of exendin-4 ...
متن کاملEffects of T-2 Toxin on Cytokine Produc-tion by Mice Peritoneal Macrophages and Lymph Node T-Cells
Background: T-2 toxin is a mycotoxin of type A trichothecenes produced by several fungal genera such as Fusarium species. Mycotoxins can affect both cell mediated and humoral immune compartments. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investi-gate the effect of T-2 toxin on cytokine production by mouse peritoneal macrophages and lymph node T cells. Methods: Mouse peritoneal macrophages and...

Introduction: Based on human studies, inequality and social injustice have adverse effects on the individual and community health. In this study, the effects of food intake inequality and social status changes on pain perception and immunological factors were investigated in Balb/C mice. Methods: The present study was conducted by implementing different social stresses including food depriva...
